Those Summer Nights

Is it July already? Time really does fly!

My all-time favorite movie is Grease; I love the music, the costumes, the feel of the whole thing. I know the dance moves to each song and the dialogue/lyrics so well I know what they edit or delete when they show it on TV or cable! :) When I saw that the theme for this month's Stuff to Scrap blog train was "Those Summer Nights," I immediately starting humming the song by the same title from the movie. And anytime I was working on my stuff for this kit, that song was running through my head. It definitely influenced my design--very retro this month. The colors are great, too--definitely a combination you don't see very often.

Ginger created a great layout using my portion of the kit:
Angela created a couple of great layouts with it.

I also have a layout to share! Once again, here's Little Dude (a.k.a. Reichen).

And finally, a preview of my portion of the blog train. You get six papers and eight elements.

Be sure to pick up the creations of the other designers. If a particular person's portion isn't posted yet, check back as we're spread out across the world. Each person's contribution will be available for free for at least two weeks, so you've got some time to collect everything. There are a total of 29 designers taking part in this month's blog train.

Summer Sun add-on

Today's a big day. It's my grandparent's 60th wedding anniversary! Any wedding anniversary is reason to celebrate but it's especially true this year as we almost lost my grandfather this past winter. He's recovered very well from his health troubles and is feeling back to his old (no pun intended) self. We're having a dinner party on Saturday in their honor. We can't wait to celebrate! Hopefully I'll have their anniversary book done in time...yikes. :)

I gotta tell ya, I love my CT ladies. I thought I had finished this kit and sent them links to the downloads. I said, "If there's anything you'd like to see, please let me know." Guess what? There were a few things they wanted to see, like grass, mud & water splats, more brads, a "rock-colored paper", a tag/journaling spot with lines, and some neutral-colored folded ribbon. I whipped up the stuff below and figured I'd share it with you, too. I love their suggestions--it really was what the kit was missing.

And--don't forget--I'd love to see your layouts made with this kit (or any of my kits). You can upload them to my slide show below, send me the link to you gallery or blog, or send them to me as an attachment. My address is on the left-hand side of this page.

Summer Sun alpha

Sorry this is getting posted late today. It's been a crazy morning around here. Before I give you the alpha, I've got some more CT layouts to share with you.

Angela (parts 7 & 8 of 8)

Ginger created a super cute candy bar wrapper for you which you can download on her blog.

A bit of info about the font used for this alpha. It's called Walkway Black and can be downloaded on SearchFreeFonts.

The alpha comes in a couple of different forms today. I created it in contact sheet form and then separated the individuals letters/numbers/punctuation into individual files. I know a few of you prefer to have alphas in sheet form, so I'm making them available to you in both forms. The "full sheet" form below will give you three sheets of the alpha (one uppercase, one lowercase, one numbers & punctuation). The "individual files" form below will give you the alpha with each letter/number/punctuation as individual files (a, 1, period, etc.).

See you tomorrow with an add-on to this kit. Have a great day and happy scrapping!

Summer Sun elements, part I

WOW! You really like this kit! I'm so pleased. Thanks for all your great comments! I love reading them.

Yesterday was another beautiful day here--85 degrees, gentle breeze, just a few clouds. I tell ya, a girl could really get used to this weather! I guess the beautiful days really make up for really cold days we sometimes get in winter.

I've got a few more CT layouts to share with you today. The ladies blew me away with their layouts this week!
Michele (this is the second half of her layout)
Beth (she will have this available as a QP on her blog later)
Angela (parts 3 & 4 of her layouts)

Before I forget, you may have noticed that some of the ladies used sand and/or water papers in their layouts. While the papers for this kit do not include a sand or water, I did have papers like that in my Tropical Punch kit. They coordinate well with this kit and are great for those beach/lake/ocean/water park pictures.

And here is a preview of the elements you'll get today (including a gecko, Peg!):

See you again tomorrow with the second half of the elements. Have a great day and happy scrapping!

New kit: Summer Sun

Hello again all! I hope you've all had a good weekend. Mine has been unbelievably hectic--lots of scrapping, shopping, hanging out with family and friends. I've been trying to enjoy the weather, too. Last weekend it was 50 and raining. This weekend it's been 75-80 and sunny. Far too nice to be stuck indoors! :)

Can I just tell you how much I love my CT ladies? I didn't even give them a full week to play around with this kit (sorry!) and they created some stunning layouts and QPs with it. Check out their fantastic layouts:
Angela--she made 8(!)--you'll see all of them this week
Another from Angela
Michele (one of two--you'll see the other one tomorrow)
Ginger (one of two--you'll see the other tomorrow)Beth--one of several QPs she'll have available this week

Where's my layout? I don't have it done yet. I'm hard at work at an album for my grandparent's upcoming 60th wedding anniversary and that's taken priority over my personal scrapping. Hopefully I'll get a layout done for you soon... :)

Here's a preview of the full kit.
And here's the portion to you get today. There are 12 papers in all, split between two downloads. Be sure to grab both parts!

See you tomorrow for the first half of the elements. Have a great day and happy scrapping!

Sneak peek: Summer Sun

Here's a sneak peek at my next kit, Summer Sun. I'll give you a couple of hints: I'm using the colors from Kim's DSO June Color Challenge and I think the kit is fun, fun, fun!

Have a great weekend and stop back on Sunday afternoon to collect the papers. Happy scrapping!

Layouts to share

Hello, all! I hope you're all doing well. I had some layouts (one from me, two from Angela) to share with you.

Here's one Angela made with my Memorial Day 2009 mini-kit. I love how she layered things on this one.
She created another great layout with the May Miscellaneous kit. I love how she used black & white photos to really make the colors pop.

And finally, here is my layout using some of the May Miscellaneous kit featuring my favorite little dude, Reichen. The template is #11 from M Originals.
Check back Friday morning for a sneak peek at next week's brand new kit, Summer Sun!
