Morning Solitude

Happy (almost) November to you! Did you survive Halloween? Mine has been decidedly unfun. I've been nursing an upset stomach since lunch today. No fun for me at all. BOO! :(

The beginning of the month means it's time for another Stuff to Scrap blog train. This month's colors are soft and gorgeous. The theme is Morning Solitude. The palette and theme were inspired by a designer trying to capture the peace of a quite morning walk in the woods before getting ready for the hustle and bustle of Thanksgiving Day. I've seen the previews--and you're going to be collecting some gorgeous stuff!

Before I show you my portion of the Morning Solitude blog train, I want to share the layout Ginger made with it. Isn't it beautiful?
And here is my contribution to the blog train. Mine's a little smaller than usual this month. I've got a TON of stuff going on in my life right now, so had to squeeze in some design time for this. I really like these colors though, so don't be surprised to see them again sometime in the future. There are seven papers (one patterned, six solid) and seven elements--as shown below.

And here is the list of the rest of the designers taking part in this month's blog train. If a particular designer doesn't have her portion listed, please check back. We're spread all across the globe. Also, be sure to snag stuff by the 15th. After that date, designers are free to put their portion in their store(s). My portion of this blog train will remain free the entire month of November.

Change in TOU

Good evening all!

After much thought and deliberation, and a few e-mail conversations with other designers, I've decided to make my kits S4H/S4O friendly. As time permits, I will be updating the TOU for those kits in the store to reflect this change. The only items that will not be S4H/S4O friendly are QPs, BB pages, desktop backgrounds, and blogwear; those items will continue to remain PU only.

If you'd like to download the new TOU file, you can find it here.

Glee desktop

I am so glad that you've all enjoyed this kit. I had tons of fun creating it and I hope that you get a lot of use out of it. Be sure you've got the main kit (papers, elements, and alpha)--it's headed to my store Sunday afternoon. As always, I'd love to see what you've created using it; send me e-mails, upload your layouts to the guestbook below, send me links to your gallery, etc. I love seeing what others create!

It's been an exhausting and absolutely crazy week around here--getting a new kit out was the easy part! In all the madness, I completely forgot to post that Ginger has a QP for you. Sorry, Ginger!
I have one more gift for you: A desktop background. I hadn't planned on making this but I wanted to do the November Desktop Challenge at Stuff to Scrap. I figured that since you liked this kit so much, you might enjoy a desktop made out of it, too.

Have a great night and happy scrapping!

Glee add-on

Sometimes I just don't know when to say when. When I was designing this kit, I created a lot of stuff. Then I decided I didn't want all of it in the main kit but rather than delete it, I decided to make it an add-on to the kit. And here's the best part for you--this is free and will remain free FOREVER! That's right, this portion of Glee won't be moved to my store at Stuff to Scrap.

And, if you've created anything with this kit (or any of my other kits), I'd love to see what you've done. You can send me an e-mail with your layout or a link to your gallery or blog or add your layout to the slide show at the bottom of my blog. I really enjoy seeing what others have done with my kits.

Without any further ado, here is the add-on to this kit. It contains four paper and nine elements.

If you've missed any portion of this kit, be sure to grab it now as I'll be moving it to my store Sunday afternoon.

Glee alpha

I have a funny story to share with you about my 3-year old niece. I had lunch with her and my Mom today at McDonald's. My mom asked me to take my niece and get us a table. We found a table. My niece sat down in the booth and slid all the way over so she was right next to the wall. I asked if I could sit next to her and she said, "Nope. Only Grandma can sit next to me!" :) She definitely knows what she wants!

Thanks to all who have left me comments or e-mailed me telling me you prefer getting all the elements on one day. Going forward, that is what I'll do. :) I'm also likely to continue releasing portions of kits in the evening as well as it works better with my schedule.

On to today's download...

I didn't realize until after I had given this kit to my CT that I used the same font (WoodenNickelBlack) for this alpha as I'd used in my Happy Blogiversary alpha a few weeks back. Oops! I guess I just really like that font. This time around it's patterned to match this kit.

Download has expired.

Be sure to come back tomorrow to get a very special add-on to this kit. In the meantime, have a great evening and happy scrapping!

Glee elements

Are you glee-ful? Hopefully your Monday put a smile on your face. Mine's been celebratory--my niece celebrates her third birthday today! We celebrated her birthday yesterday with a Dora-themed party: Dora balloons, Dora birthday cake, and all sorts of Dora birthday presents. So much fun!

Sorry for the initial troubles with the paper downloads yesterday. I had double- and triple-checked everything before publishing. For whatever reason, the second papers download didn't seem to work. I've moved the rest of the downloads for this kit to FileSavr. I've had some other issues with MediaFire lately that have made me re-think my decision to host my downloads there. FileSavr also allows immediate downloading (after entering the security key) and allows downloaders to leave comments, which is something I appreciate.

Before I give you the elements, I've got some more layouts to share with you. Beth and Ginger did multiple layouts with this kit. I love what they've created!

Beth--available as a QP on her blog
I'm doing things a little different this week. Rather than post in the mornings, I'm posting in the evenings. And rather than break up the embellishments into two portions, I'm including them all in one download. It makes life a little easier for me and means less wait time for you, too. If you prefer things this way, please be sure to let me know (leave a comment or e-mail me).

Here's a preview of the elements. Be sure to come back tomorrow to pick up the alpha.

I'll be back tomorrow night with the alpha for this kit. In the meantime, have a great day and happy scrapping!

Glee paper links amended

My apologies for the bad link to the second half of the papers for Glee. I double- and triple-checked everything before publishing. Somehow the link went bad. I've re-uploaded the links for both portions to a more reliable (hopefully!) server.
Download has expired.

Sorry for the troubles. Hopefully everything works correctly now!

Glee!

Have you heard of the new show Glee? It airs Wednesday nights on FOX and is centered on a high school Spanish teacher who is trying to bring back the Glee club. I *loved* the first episode that aired last spring after the American Idol finale and have seen every episode of this show since. I love just about everything about it (except for Mr. Schuster's wife). If you haven't seen it, you can check out past episodes of it here or here.

Why do I mention this TV show? Because it inspired the name and theme of my newest kit, Glee! I saw the colors KimB had in her October DSO Color Challenge and got really, really inspired. (Good thing. I was beginning to think Mr. Mojo had taken a permanent vacation.) The colors were so bright and cheery that the word "glee" came to mind. I've created a kit filled with fun patterns, shapes, papers, and elements.

And, for this week only, it's free right here on my blog! (It will go into the Stuff to Scrap store next Sunday afternoon.) To make it even more fun for you--my CT and I have QPs and add-ons for you this week too--be sure to read things carefully so you don't miss anything!

My CT did an awesome job with this kit. Look at the great layouts they created!

Juli
Beth--available as a QP tomorrow on her blog
Here's my layout. No, that's not me in the pictures. It's my good friend Kiera, who ran her first marathon a couple of weeks ago. She never ceases to amaze and inspire me with all that she does!
Here's a preview of the main portion of the kit.
And here is today's portion of the kit, the papers. There are 14 papers total. Be sure you pick up BOTH downloads! :)
Download has expired.

Don't forget to leave some love!

See you tomorrow night with the embellishments. Have a great day and happy scrapping!

Sneak peek: Glee

I've finally got a new kit for you next week--a full kit, not a mini-kit! :) The fun will start Sunday night at 7:00 PM (CT) and continue through the week. Be sure to stop by next week to pick up the whole thing because after that it's headed to my store at Stuff to Scrap.

Intrigued? Here's a little sneak peek.

Have a good weekend and I'll see you Sunday night with the first portion of the kit!

Rainbow of Hope

Cancer has touched many lives. In my own life, multiple family members and friends have battled cancer. So when I was asked if I wanted to participate in a kit that would benefit the American Cancer Society, I jumped at the chance.

A group of STS designers (Just for You Digi Scraps, JW-DigiScraps, Mad Genius Designs, SAHM Scrapper, Scraps of Ellay, The Scrappy Kat, and me) came together to create a kit called "Rainbow of Hope." All proceeds from the kit will be donated to the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life.

We didn't want to exclude any forms of cancer. The kit includes 60 papers, 76 elements, and one alpha. There are awareness ribbons in each of the colors represented. The colors chosen for this kit represent the following forms of cancer:
  • Orange: leukemia
  • Yellow: liver cancer, bladder cancer, osteosarcoma
  • Green: kidney cancer
  • Blue: colon cancer
  • Purple: pancreatic cancer, cancer in general
  • White: bone cancer
  • Black: melanoma
  • Brown: colorectal cancer
  • Grey: brain cancer
  • Lime green: lymphoma
  • Teal: ovarian, cervical, and uterine cancers
  • Burgundy: multiple myeloma
  • Periwinkle: stomach cancer
  • Light blue: prostate cancer
  • Pearl: lung cancer
  • Pink: breast cancer
Check out the previews below. (Images are linked to the store.)

We've also designed a set of coordinating quick pages to go along with the kit. (Image is linked to the store.)

Follow Shel Belle Scraps on Twitter!

Yep, I've joined Twitter! I thought it would be a fun way to keep in touch with others, so I set up an account for Shel Belle Scraps. I'll be posting what I'm doing, news about upcoming kits, and every once in a while there will be a special freebie just for my Twitter followers.

If you're interested, you can check it out here.

See you there!

$2.00 Tuesday

I've got a great deal for you but it's only available tomorrow, Tuesday: You can pick up my newest kit, Haunted Halloween, for just $2.00 at Stuff to Scrap.

The kit is chock-full of cute, non-scary goodies: 15 papers, 39 elements, and 6 (yes, you read that right--6) alphas! Click on the image below to be taken to the store.

Updated Afternoon Delight link

Technology has not been my friend the past few days.

Boop1935 informed me there was a problem with my portion of the Afternoon Delight file on MediaFire. I've re-uploaded the file and have tested it; there aren't any errors this time around. Sorry for the earlier problems.

Sunshine Playground

This month, the Stuff to Scrap designers collaborated on a very special mega-kit called Sunshine Playground. The kit was inspired by Tara, who is a CT member for several designers. The kit is packed with 101 papers, 168 embellishments, and two alphas. Best of all--because ALL money from the sale of this kit goes to charity, your purchase is tax-deductible! (So save that e-mail receipt!)

Here's a bit about the project, written by Tara:
Here's a preview of the entire kit (image is linked to the store):

And a look at just the embellishments:
We also created QPs for you. The set includes 31 in all. (Image is linked to the store.)Head on over to the store to get these fabulous products!
