Because I Said So...

Have you ever used the line, "Because I said so..."? Well, if you have, then this blog train is for you. The forum blog train at Stuff to Scrap this month is called "Because I Said So" and features a palette of greens, golds, and orange. I had a hard time with this palette; I tried creating a few papers and none of them were stuff I felt I would use, so I gave up and decided to do an alpha instead. I figured you'll be getting a lot of papers & elements, but you'll need an alpha to go with this kit, right? :) The alpha also includes numbers.

And here is the list of the rest of the designers taking part in this month's blog train. If a particular designer doesn't have her portion posted yet, please check back. We're spread out all across the globe. Also, be sure to snag stuff by the 15th. After that date, designers are free to put their portion in their store(s)

Lilac Love, part IV

I can't believe Lilac Love is coming to an end already. Where did the month of April go?

This past week has been a really busy one. On top of all the usual stuff in life, I also had a bunch of other stuff going on, too (beginning training for a fall half-marathon, visitation for my friend's dad, etc.). The best part of my week was, hands down, on Wednesday night. Why? I got to go to the Twins game! I love baseball and the Minnesota Twins. Oh, and Target Field is gorgeous!

A picture from our seats. Carl Pavano is on the mound, Justin Morneau is at first, and Brendan Harris is playing third. (Our seats were on the third base side of the field.)
And here's a view of Minne and Paul (the Twins). They shake hands and strobe lights go off when the Twins hit a home run and/or win the game.
So, it's been a busy week, which is why you haven't heard much from me. I've got a bunch of stuff in the works, including a new mega-kit that is nautical themed. I'm taking part in two blog trains that begin on Saturday and I also need to get started on May's monochromatic kit. PLUS I'm hosting a speed scrap at Stuff to Scrap on Friday night. Needless to say, I've got a lot on my plate.

Ginger has a QP available for you on her blog. Be sure you to leave her some love when you download.
Here is the final portion of Lilac Love. You get three papers, seven elements, and the symbols portion of the alpha.

Lilac Love, part III

Happy Sunday! Hope you're having a good weekend. I've been enjoying as much of the spring weather as I can handle. I think I've got allergies--or at least sensitivities--that sometimes make being outside a bit of a bother.

Before I show you this week's portion of Lilac Love, I've got a bit of eye candy for you from Dawn.
And Ginger has a QP for you. Be sure to say thanks to her for sharing it.

This week, you get three papers, seven elements, and the uppercase portion of the alpha.

Lilac Love, part II

Have I mentioned I love spring? (Only about a hundred times, right?) It was so gorgeous here yesterday. About 65F, slight breeze, not a cloud in the sky. Perfect weather. Plus, my beloved Twins won again. I love baseball and can't wait to get to a game in the new stadium this year.

Thanks for your patience last week in dealing with the problem with direct downloads. The company has assured me that the problem has been resolved. Hopefully there won't be any trouble this week!

Before I give you this week's portion of the kit, I wanted to share some more eye candy from my CT. I love what they created--they're so talented. If you're wondering where the yellow papers are from--knittinjen combined this month's kit, Lilac Love, with last month's kit, Buttercup.
Here is this week's portion of the kit. You get four more papers, eight more elements, and the numerical portion of the alpha.

Hybrid Artist Call at STS

Are you a hybrid artist? If so, we'd love to have you join our team at Stuff to Scrap. Read the flyer for more information.

Lilac Love is here!

Happy Easter! Hope you're all having a wonderful day! Mine has been busy so far: up early for church, breakfast at church after service, baking homemade peach crisp (maybe I should share the recipe?), and getting my new monochromatic kit, Lilac Love, ready to go. And it's not even noon yet. If I only I were this productive every day!

Before getting to April's kit, did you notice the direct download feature for my portion of the Spring Picnic blog train? In talking with some other designers, people are getting more and more leery of downloading from 4shared, mediafire, and other file-sharing sites because of the risk of viruses, trojan horses, etc. The designers I spoke with recommended a service that was very reasonable, so I did some research on it and decided to go for it. I've been really glad I did--the customer service is fantastic and from the feedback I've gotten so far, people prefer the direct download.

Now, on to this month's kit, Lilac Love. I came up with color palette of soft purples a while back and decided to use it for this month's kit, but I couldn't settle on a name. During the "Meet the Designers" chat in early March at STS, I mentioned I was having trouble picking a name. The other ladies in the chat suggested quite a list of names. Lilac Love stuck out the most for me because one of the things I love about spring is when the lilacs bloom.

The Shel Belle Scraps CT knocked this out of the park. Look at some of the gorgeous layouts they created:Here's a preview of the entire kit you can collect this month. Be sure to stop by each Sunday to pick up a new piece of the kit. Each portion will only be available for one week.
Based on some feedback from you, I decided to do previews for each week of the kit, so you could see exactly what you'd be getting. This week, you get four papers, eight elements, and the lowercase portion of the alpha.
