Happy April! Where did the first three months of the year go?

This month, the Stuff to Scrap blog train has a reading theme to it. Why? Because in April we celebrate two things: The opening of the first library and National Library Week (April 11-17). Some day, I'd love to visit the Library of Congress. Some fun facts about the Library of Congress: there are 838 miles of bookshelves and they add approximately 10,000 new items to their collections daily. I was really inspired by the color palette that was chosen this month and have designed a mini-kit for you. There are five papers and eleven elements. I also included a "This book belongs to" label for you--something you print out and put in the books you own. Here's a preview of what you get in the download:

Here is the list of the rest of the designers taking part in this month's blog train. If a designer doesn't have her portion posted yet, please check back as we're spread out across the globe. Also, be sure to grab each portion by the 15th of the month. After the 15th, designers are free to put their potion of the blog train into their store(s). My mini-kit will remain available until the end of April.

Happy Days

I've been a huge fan of Vicki Parker's designs (A Work in Progress) since she started. A few months ago, she had a contest on her Facebook fan page; the first ten people to respond won a chance to be a guest CT member on an upcoming kit. I was so excited to win a spot and couldn't wait to see what kit I got to work with.

I got her newest kit, Happy Days, from her and loved it. The kit has a great mix of colors, fun patterns, and funky elements. I found a great picture of my friend's son, Reichen, and one his friends and used that as the focus for my layout.

Here's a preview of the entire kit. It's normally $4.00, but you can pick it up for $3.00 for a short time.
