Good morning! I hope it's warmer where you are than where I am: -15F this morning. Brrrrrr! But I can't really complain because, despite it being Minnesota, this is the first truly frigid weather we've had this winter. After all, we had record high temps in the mid-50s early last week!

I've got some really fun new products to share with you this morning: a kit and two template packs. The kit is called Snow Much Fun. My creative team did an awesome job with their layouts. Check out this eye candy and be sure to keep reading--there are some freebies for you!

The kit includes 17 papers (11 patterened, 6 solid), 41 unique elements, and one alpha (uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and some punctuation).

I also created two template packs that coordinate with this kit.

Cozy templates

I was on a template-creating kick a few weeks back and created a fun set of templates using this month's color palette. There are four 12x12 templates in the set; .png, .psd, and .tiff files are included for each template.

My CT really had fun with the templates. Ginger and Kelly used my Harvest of Memories kit.

They also used the the templates to make layouts from my Take a Hike kit.

Meg created layouts using my Serenity kit and worn paper pack.

And finally, Kelly created a layout using my portion of the 2011 Countdown to Christmas (with stuff from a few other designers thrown in, too).

Happy New Year!

My year is off to a hectic start. Over the past few weeks I noticed that my computer was acting sort of cranky--getting hung up while processing files, taking longer than normal to save things in Photoshop, and so on. Rather than wait for it to completely die on me, I decided to be proactive and replace it before it was too late. I wound up finding a great deal on a desktop computer that has a great processor, tons of memory, AND a 23" monitor.

But because I've been transferring things over from my old computer (6-1/2 years of stuff) to my new one I haven't had a chance to tell you about all the great new stuff available at Stuff to Scrap.

First up: Our monthly collab. We've changed up how we do our monthly collabs a bit so that each month there's a team of 6-10 designers creating the kit. January's collab, Rosy Cheeks, was created by Designs by Christi, Digital Scrap Fun, Knittenjen, Manda Lane Scraps, Scrappin' Serenity, and Scrapteam. This great kit include 32 papers, 71 elements, and 2 full alphas.

There's also a huge set of quick pages made from the kit. The set includes 22 12x12 QPs. Like in previous months, you can purchase the set separately or get them free with any $10.00 purchase.

Finally, the designers have created a grab bag of commercial use items. This month's bag includes 36 general and winter-themed items.

Winter Formal blog train

Happy 2012! Hopefully you had a safe and happy new year's eve. Mine was very low-key: stayed home, got started on season one of "The Sopranos," and watched the ball drop at midnight. My new year will be off to a fast start--I'm running a 5K today. Yep, it's going to be about 25 degrees and blustery here in Minnesota and I'm going to run a race. I must be crazy!

A new month also means a new blog train from some of the designers and forum members of Stuff to Scrap. Our theme this month is Winter Formal. Here's a preview of all the goodies you can collect on this blog train.

I've been really, really swamped lately and didn't have time to create a full kit or even a mini kit, but I was able to create two 5x7 brag book templates for you. The .zip file includes the files in .png, .psd, and .tiff format.

I love the holiday season. One of the songs I love to hear is "Blue Christmas"--either the Elvis Presley or the Elmer Fudd version. That song was the inspiration for this mini kit.

Each month, the designers at Stuff to Scrap get together and create a huge collab kit. This month, we've created one that's perfect for all sorts of pictures. Thankful For November includes 89 papers, 105 embellishments, and 2 full alphas.

First, I want to welcome Kelly, Meg, and Melissa to my Creative Team. I'm so excited to have you on board!

If you're at all like me, November and December means you'll be doing a lot of baking and cooking. I love to create special meals and treats in the kitchen, so I was really excited when I saw that the theme for the November Build a Kit at Stuff to Scrap was cooking/baking. We all used the same palette, so you can mix and match things to your heart's content. There are a ton of great goodies for you this month.

My CT created some really fantastic layouts with my Build-a-Kit products. I love how they incorporated all three products into their layouts. Check out some of what they did:

I also created an alpha pack. The pack includes two alphas. The red alpha includes uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and punctuation. The cream and aqua alpha includes mixed case letters, numbers, and punctuation.

Everday Elegance

This month, the forum members of Stuff to Scrap have come together to create a blog train for you that's filled with beautiful papers, elements, and templates centered around the theme of Everyday Elegance. Here's a preview of all the goodies offered this month.

My contribution was inspired by a long Sunday drive I took a few weeks ago. I was feeling a bit overwhelmed by life, so I decided to get out of town for a few hours. We drove through southeastern Minnesota near Rochester and Lanesboro. The trip was filled with all sorts of beautiful landscapes and farms. One particular farmhouse really caught my attention because all of the windows in the house were the same. The design was unusual: two vertical panes in the center and a long horizontal pane on both the top and bottom. Those windows were the inspiration for this month's template.

I've been really busy this past week (and battling a head cold), but I managed to whip up a little something for you. Thanks for all your great comments and messages about the Harvest of Memories collab. I'm thrilled by the overwhelming response. I apologize that the there was a very brief period when the downloads were not available yesterday afternoon. Fortunately, I happened to be working from home yesterday and was able to get the files re-uploaded in very short order.

I've got some more great layouts to share with you. Michele, from my CT, and Jodi from Kat's CT created these beautiful layouts.

Harvest of Memories collab, Day 1

Are you ready for a great collab?

A couple of months ago, Kat and I decided to join forces and create a fall-themed kit. I came up with a fun color palette and we we were off and running. What you'll see, over the course of the next few days, is a great kit with a world of possibilities. Both of us have included some boldly patterned papers and some softer ones as well. I think you'll get a lot of use out this. (And you could use this kit to complete the monthly challenge here on my blog.)

Over the course of the next few days I'll be showing you the layouts my CT has created. (If you'd like to be a member of the Shel Belle Scraps Creative Team, I'm currently having a call.) Up first: layouts from Ginger. She combined the kits to create some fantastic layouts.

I'll have more layout ideas for you over the next few days.

Before the preview of today's portion, remember: Each portion of the collab will only be available for free on our blogs for 24 hours. October BAK: Halloween Sweets

Halloween will soon be upon us. To help you scrap those photos and preserve those memories, the designers at Stuff to Scrap have created a number of great Halloween-themed paper packs, elements packs, mini-kits, alphas, and templates. What's cool about them is that we all used the same color palette so you can mix and match to your hearts content to build a kit (BAK) that includes everything you might want.

October 2011 Blog Train

Is it October already? Hard to believe there are only three months left in 2011!

October means it's time for the bi-monthly mega blog train.This month, there are over 75 designers taking part. We were all given the same palette and guidelines about what kind of products we could create but no theme. What's really nice about that is that each designer did her own thing with it. You'll find all sorts of styles in this blog train: rugged, vintage/heritage, romantic, child, etc. There really is something for everyone.

For this month's train, I created a versatile alpha. It has a slight beveled edge and texture as well as an outline to the letters. It's a full alpha--uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and punctuation.

The best part for you (besides that it's free)? No waiting for the download. That's right: You can download the files directly from my blog. The alpha comes in two formats. In the first format, each letter comes as an individual file. In the second format, you get contact sheets; simply use your selection tool to choose which letter you'd like to add to your project. Both downloads contain the full alpha; which format you choose is your preference.

A new monthly challenge at Shel Belle Scraps

Sometimes conversations with friends spark great ideas. I was chatting with a good friend the other day about how I need to get started now on my Christmas gifts. I make a calendar each year for my grandmother; the past couple of years, the calendar hasn't quite been completed in time for gift-opening on Christmas Eve. My goal this year is to have it done, printed, wrapped, and underneath the tree for her to open that night. I'd like to create a calendar for my parents, and maybe one for my brother and sister-in-law too.

I also realized that there are entire sets of pictures that I need to get around to scrapping (vacations, study abroad, weddings, graduations, new additions, everyday moments, etc.).

I realized that this was a great opportunity to offer a challenge on my blog, too. So I've decided to host challenges each month here. Hopefully these challenges will help you scrap more pictures and preserve more memories for your loved ones. I'll be starting out with a layout challenge and will be adding new challenges in the months ahead. The cool part is that your layout(s) can meet a challenge requirement both here and at Stuff to Scrap. For example, you might create a layout using my products that meets the requirements of the font challenge, or the recipe challenge, or the scraplift challenge, or the WOW challenge, etc.

Here's what you need to do for October's challenge:

Create a layout using my products. Eligible products include kits, templates, paper packs, element packs, and alphas. You may use any of my current or retired products (including freebies).
Post your layout to my gallery at Stuff to Scrap.
Comment on this post with a link to your layout. Each layout earns one entry.
At the beginning of next month, I will choose one person at random who will receive a $5.00 coupon to my store.

I'll be adding new challenges in the months ahead as well as adding new twists to them. If you've got any suggestions about what you'd like to see, please let me know.

Howdy!

Have you missed me? I've been so busy lately that I feel like all I've been posting is notices for upcoming speed scraps. Sorry about that--life got really chaotic in mid-August and is only now beginning to settle down. I'll be bringing you more interesting posts over the course of the next few weeks--promise.

I'm really excited to show off my newest kit, Take a Hike. This color palette sat on my hard drive for a while; I knew I wanted to do something with a boy-ish or rugged feel to it but wasn't sure of a more specific direction. I shared the palette with my CT and Isabella suggested a hiking-themed kit. She mentioned she had lots of photos taken while out for a hike but no kit to go with them. I was really inspired by her suggestion. There's some good news about this kit...keep reading!

My CT has been busy with life and scrapping--look at what they've created with this kit. They did a great job showing how versatile it really is--it can be used for more than just hiking photos.

It's a new month and that means a new Build a Kit palette at Stuff to Scrap. That means one palette, one theme, and lots of fantastic pieces to mix and match.

I loved the fun bright colors of this month's palette as well as the theme. I don't usually include bugs or birds in my kits, so it was fun to stretch a bit. My CT created some fun layouts with the mini I created. Some inspiration:

The mini, Bugs 'n Birds, includes 10 papers (five patterned, five solid) and 20 elements.

I also designed two coordinating alphas to go with the kit. The red alpha is a mixed case alpha and includes numbers and some punctuation. The kraft paper alpha is uppercase and includes numbers and punctuation. (The background paper is not included with the alphas.)

A new kit and new CT members

Today is a big day here at Shel Belle Scraps. I've got a new kit to show you AND I've got two new CT members to introduce to you. Both new CT members took part in the This Scrapper's Got Talent contest at Stuff to Scrap. I was so blown away by their amazing layouts that I just had to ask them if they'd be willing to a creative team member. Lucky for me, both of them said yes!

Isabella is an Austrian who has a husband, but no kids yet. She'd love to get a black French bulldog and she loves spicy pizza, sunshine, giraffes, the movie Dirty Dancing and nerdy computer games.

I love the layout she did with my newest kit, Serenity.

Shelby is a wife and stay-at-home mom to four. She also is a kit collector, meal planner, hat lover, housekeeper, coffee snob, friend, ans so much more.

The rest of my CT has been busy with this kit. I also had a few STS designers guest CT for me. (Thanks ladies!) Here's some inspiration for you.

It seems like forever since I've had a new full-size kit to share with you. I've taken on a few new responsibilities in my life; they're good responsibilities and things I really want to do but sometimes I just want a day at the spa--and that's what inspired this kit. I usually design full of bright colors but I ran across this palette on my computer and it reminded me of a spa I once visited. I chose the name Serenity because it seemed to fit with the colors.

The kit features 14 papers (8 patterned, 6 solid), 40 elements, and an alpha (uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and some puncutation. Here's a closer look at the entire kit as well as the papers and alpha.

I also designed sets of coordinating cardstocks and worn papers to accompany the kit.

There's lots to tell you about this month about some of the new products at Stuff to Scrap.

This month's Build a Kit selection is huge. There are 47 different choices and run the range from alpha and paper packs to mini-kits and quick pages. The theme this month is farming & gardening but there are lots of great basics, too.

The designers have also created a great mega collab, Berry Delight. It's perfect for scrapping all sorts of pictures--especially those you've taken at the berry patch. The kit includes 112 papers, 143 embellishments, and 2 full alphas.

There's also a coordinating QP pack that's available for purchase. If you spend at least $10 in one transaction, you get the Berry Delight QP pack FREE.

Happy July to you! I can't believe the first half of the year is behind us already! The good news is that I've stuck to at least one of my New Year's Resolutions I made this year: regular exercise. I've gotten to the point where when I don't get activity I get a bit cranky. :)

A new month means a new blog train for you from the members of Stuff to Scrap. Our theme this month is "At the Park." If you're anything like me, you take LOTS of pictures during the summer. I created a couple of brag book templates to help you scrap those pictures. The download includes .png, .psd, and .tiff files so you should be able to use them no matter what program you use. The pages are 5x7 in size and can be easily re-sized to fit your needs.

Here is the list of the rest of the designers taking part in this month's blog train. If a designer doesn't have her portion posted yet, please check back as we're spread out across the globe. Also, be sure to grab each portion by the 15th of the month. After the 15th, designers are free to put their potion of the blog train into their store(s). My templates will remain available until the end of July.

Britt has a new set of templates out today. She was looking for some help in creating layouts with them and I had some pictures that needed scrapping, so I offered up my help. You can pick up the templates in her store.

I created two different layouts with her templates. I used Seren-dipity, the May 2011 mega collab from the Stuff to Scrap designers for my first layout.

For my second layout, I used portions of a kit, Serenity, that I'm fine-tuning. The kit will be released in July.
